Plantar fasciitis is a condition that results in heel pain. It occurs when the plantar fascia, a band of tissue that connects the heel to the toes, becomes inflamed. The condition is common among construction workers who spend long hours on their feet.
While there is no cure for plantar fasciitis, there are several things you can do to relieve the pain and inflammation. Here are a few tips that may help you get rid of plantar fasciitis in one week:
1. Rest and elevate your foot whenever possible. Whenever you have a chance to sit down, put your feet up. This will help reduce the inflammation.
2. Apply ice to your heel for 15-20 minutes several times a day. This will help reduce the swelling and pain.
3. Stretch your calf muscles and Achilles tendon several times a day. This will help loosen the tissue and relieve some of the tension on your plantar fascia.
4. Take an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen or naproxen to help reduce swelling and pain.
5. Wear supportive shoes with good arch support and a cushioned sole. This will help reduce the strain on your plantar fascia and provide some relief from the pain.
6. Use arch supports or orthotics devices in your shoes if necessary. These devices will help take some of the pressure off of your plantar fascia and provide some relief from the pain.
7. Try physical therapy or massage therapy to help relieve the pain and inflammation.
8. If all else fails, see a doctor about getting a cortisone injection or wearing a custom-made orthotic device called a walking boot for a few weeks until the inflammation goes away completely.
